Inspiration

Did you know that my youngest son is the inspiration for The Sensory Child? Tristan is 2.5 years old and is blind in his right eye. His vision in his left eye is 6/24 and classed as low vision in Australia.

Tristan has two eye conditions, Optic Nerve Hypoplasia (ONH) and Persistent hyperplastic primary vitreous (PHPV).

Optic Nerve Hypoplasia is the underdevelopment of the optic nerve.

PHPV is when the space at the back of the eye, behind the lens, has a hazy, scarred vitreous. It blocks light passing to the back of the eye.

Tristan loves to touch! And loves to be sung too. He is a huge fan of the song boards!
